Are you a fan of the sea? Dream of getting married near it? Do you also love golf? Then a wedding at the Old Course Hotel in St. Andrews might be an option for you. It is a stunning venue with views of the sea, a gorgeous garden to gather for the drinks reception and incredible views of West Sands beach. Chloe & Ben’s wedding was everything you could imagine.
Let’s start at the beginning
I met Chloe when I photographed her sister’s wedding. I was delighted when she got in touch to ask me to be part of her wedding to Ben. For their engagement session, we went to old Penicuik House, which was near to their home. And yes, we did manage to sneak in a few photos with their dog <3
Cut to their wedding at The Old Course Hotel. They chose Nomad Floral to do their floral arrangements. As huge fan’s of golf, they wanted to have something for their guest’s to do during the drinks reception. So it was a no-brainer that they contacted Blown Away who set up a mini golf course! As you can imagine….there ended up being A BIT of competitiveness. Luckily, everyone escaped unscathed.
We made sure to take some time to drive down to West Sands for their couple’s session, accompanied by the bridesmaids and groomsmen. We did a few photos on the boardwalk. As soon as we got there, two staff members at Dook came over to give Ben & Chloe a couple of mini prosecco bottles. Such a kind thing to do. We, of course, also headed to the Swilcan Bridge in between play to grab a quick photo. Other honourable mentions should go to their friend Laura for making their cake, as well as It’s No Reel for the fantastic ceilidh music. The Old Course is a perfect venue for a wedding. The conservatory for the ceremony is gorgeous. The Hall of Champions for the speeches and dinner has enough space for all your guests to be up on the dance floor.
