Alisa & Mark love to travel, so this featured as the main theme in their wedding at Dumfries House. If you haven’t visited this venue before, the setting of the house is amazing and steeped in history (seriously, get yourself along for a tour!)
The day kicked off with a trip to see the girls. I love bridal prep, especially when they are full of happy tears, laughter, sandwiches and dancing, like this one was. Alisa’s dress has a gorgeous lace top layer and what better way to finish off your outfit than to wear Jimmy Choo shoes. While I was with Alisa and her squad of bridesmaids, my second shooter Sarah went along to see the boys who got ready at the cottages. Mark wore tartan trews with a blue tweed jacket & waistcoat.
Time to get married
The ceremony was held in the Tapestry Room then is was outdoors for drinks and canapes. There was also a visit from Archie who is the couples dog. He features below! It was a delight to have him be part of the wedding day and was running about in his element. For the couples shoot we went out to the gardens. We took full advantage of the little bridge and the winding paths.
The reception was held in the Pavillion. Alisa & Mark had chose the table names to be places they have been visited. The favors were little suitcases that had chocolate aeroplanes in them. The place names were paper aeroplanes (that came in really handy after the meal for everyone to throw about and have fun). The cake topper was laser cut and read “Our Adventure Begins”. The top table were supplied with a tequila shot each! Then the night was finished off with a serious amount of dancing.
(Psst – keep an eye out for Alisa sliding down the bannister too!)
