Gran Canaria // Travel

My husband and I love travelling; whether it’s a city break or to a beach, we love it.  Gary found an absolute gem of a deal at the Sheraton Salobre in Gran Canaria in 2015.

We arrived at the hotel, the staff were so friendly.  There was champagne on arrival and we were shown to our room.  We were staying on the 7th floor, and after taking a couple of lifts and walking down several walkways, we settled in.  The hotel is huge but the layout is really clever.  There is great internet access.  I’m not normally bothered about the Wi-Fi when I go on holiday because I try to switch off as much as I can, but every room gets their own connection which meant surfing the web was hassle free.

If you’re a golfer, then great! If you want go poolside, there are so many pools it will  never felt like it was overcrowded at anytime.  However, the hotel also offer a complimentary bus trip to the local town, Maspalomas, which goes right down to the beach.  This was a nice wee day, until my flip flops broke whilst trying to walk up a small sand dune.  And the food, everything was freshly made.  You should take advantage of all the fresh fruit and the omelette station.
